ABOK ABOK
A Malay dessert made of sago*, gula melaka and coconut. They are wrapped in banana leaves in a cone shape and steamed.
* "sago" are small pearls made of tapioca
ingredients

1 cup pearl sago (washed & drained)

200g chopped Gula Melaka
-
½ tbsp salt
-
100g grated coconut
-
Pandan leaves
-
Banana leaves
Steps
-
Cut banana leaves into 12-15 cm square, depending on your preferred size.

Prepare a steamer half filled with water.

Add pandan leaves into water while gradually adding in the sago, coconut and salt then mixing it well.

Roll banana leaf into a cone shape and secure it with a toothpick.

Place 1 tbsp of the mixture into the cone. Add 1tsp of gula melaka and 1tbsp of sago on top of the mixture. Seal the top with another toothpick,

Steam for 15-20 minutes.
